Position Description:
Participates in the entire web development stack, encompassing both front-end and back-end technologies. Utilizes JavaScript frameworks like React and Angular for front-end development, coupled with HTML and CSS for crafting intuitive user interfaces. On the back-end, utilizes Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and Python to build scalable and efficient server-side applications. Leverage ORACLE and DB2 for seamless data management. Deploys applications on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, while utilizing tools like Git for version control and Agile methodologies for collaborative development.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing strategic IT solutions delivering cloud web services/API and deploying employer benefit services applications using Docker, Kubernetes and Java.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing strategic IT solutions delivering cloud web services/API and deploying employer benefit services applications using Docker, Kubernetes and Java.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") defining application architecture strategies and designing technical design flows with subject matter expertise of business data required for Workplace Benefit solutions including developing and implementing resilient infrastructure, managing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating governance frameworks to optimize IT operations; and leveraging advanced tools and technologies available on cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure for resilient infrastructure, Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration, and Apache Kafka for real-time data processing.
DE re-platforming and migrating legacy monolithic applications to Cloud deployable services/API, using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL by applying security best practices in development, addressing vulnerabilities, and contributing to successful migration; and dealing with both Oracle and DB2 databases to ensure seamless integration and performance optimization during the migration process.
DE designing and developing low latency, highly scalable containerized Microservices using REST, OAuth and SAML by identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in Java applications, employing efficient algorithms and REDIS/AEROSPIKE caching strategies to enhance overall system speed and responsiveness; and handling large volumes of data and conducting performance testing using MOX scripts to ensure optimal system performance.
DEin designing, developing, and optimizing Kafka processors to facilitate seamless data streaming, including data synchronization and replication from IDB to MDM, leveraging Informatica; and leveraging tools -- Apache Kafka, Apache ZooKeeper, Confluent Platform, and Informatica to ensure efficient event-driven architecture and real-time data processing.
