We work very hard to provide our consumers with high quality, exciting 5-star products that make life easier. We thrive on passion and innovation, and are looking for great people, with great ideas, who want to create the next big thing and develop as they do.  We take a team approach to our projects, where everyone has a voice. SharkNinja recognize the importance of diversity in the workplace and are committed to hiring a diverse team.

Summary of Position

This role is for an individual contributor and will focus on technical leadership of embedded electronic design and product development lifecycle for our product roadmap. The successful candidate will have experience in analog and digital embedded design, including both hardware (schematic capture and PCB layout) and firmware (C and ASM), preferably in consumer products or similar. The role would need to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the product electrical and firmware architecture, work with contract manufacturers and global electrical engineering team to implement the designs while conducting the timely reviews with broader team and monitoring the progress.  Role requires familiarity with all product development aspects such as team task tracking, BOM cost tracking, DFMEA, documentation and PLM systems.

Role Functions:

  • Drive the design and development of consumer electronic products from concept to production, collaborating closely with the global Electrical Engineering (EE) team to meet both technical and market needs.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to define scalable, cost-effective hardware architectures for contract manufacturing, ensuring feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Develop clear hardware and firmware specifications, translating technical requirements into actionable design details that align with product goals and customer needs.
  • Coordinate electrical engineering activities across global teams, ensuring efficient communication and timely delivery of hardware throughout the product development process.
  • Own key EE deliverables through the stage-gate development process, ensuring milestones are met, and projects are delivered on schedule while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Manage multiple hardware design projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks to balance deadlines and quality standards while ensuring all project requirements are met.
  • Lead the design and execution of electrical hardware, including schematics, BOMs, PCB layouts, test protocols, and test reports, ensuring technical accuracy and product reliability.
  • Identify and resolve EE design issues, using troubleshooting techniques and conducting root cause investigations, ensuring that all hardware designs meet product performance and reliability expectations.
  • Develop initial cost estimates based on the EBOM, analyzing costs by feature and ensuring cost versus feature benefit alignment with product cost targets and the overall value proposition.
  • Conduct design reviews, facilitating technical discussions and ensuring design alignment with project goals, while providing actionable feedback for product improvement.
  • Propose feature enhancements to improve product functionality and performance, contributing to ongoing innovation within the product line.
  • Work with the compliance team to ensure products meet global certification and regulatory standards for consumer electronics.
  • Foster a collaborative and continuous improvement culture within the EE team, promoting the sharing of knowledge and ideas to drive team growth and project success.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
  • Strong experience in electrical design, including component selection, system architecture, design verification, documentation, and embedded hardware development (e.g., PCB design, circuit analysis, integration with firmware).
  • Hands-on experience with embedded hardware design for microcontrollers, including design, testing, debugging, and interfacing with sensors and detection circuits (signal conditioning, analog-to-digital conversion, data processing).
  • Experience in power supply design, including AC to DC and DC to DC power supplies, with a focus on power conversion components, testing, and optimization for efficient power management.
  • Experience in isolated AC to DC power supply design, including transformer selection, rectification, filtering, and ensuring reliable power conversion with a focus on safety compliance.
  • Experience in motor control design, including variable speed AC and DC motor control, motor driver selection, control algorithms, and system integration for optimal performance.
  • Experience in DC water pump control, including pump driver selection, control algorithms, and system integration for fluid flow regulation and efficient operation.
  • Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and deliver structured solutions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision and strong prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present complex technical information effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent for PCB design and layout.
  • Proficiency in SPICE simulation for circuit analysis and validation.
  • Familiarity with JIRA for project management and issue tracking.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics or consulting industry, particularly with embedded systems or hardware design.
  • Familiarity with C programming for embedded systems, including debugging and optimization; experience with compilers and IDEs.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI best practices for consumer electronics.
  • Understanding of global regulatory standards for consumer electronics (e.g., CE, UL, FCC).
