Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.
Why Medical Telemetry?
Our Medical Telemetry Unit is a 38-bed unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care. This unit affords you with ample learning opportunities with a full spectrum of medical diagnoses and comorbidities. Our Medical Telemetry unit also offers:
* Resident Physician designated Teaching Unit
* ED door to door admissions
* Highly engaged team
* Supportive management team
* Robust Unit Based Council
* Flexible scheduling
* Emphasis on work/life balance
We have a varied medical/telemetry population including:
* Sepsis
* Chest Pain
* Patients requiring isolation or admission to negative airflow rooms
* Patients requiring skin and wound care- DHFT, PEGs, Wound Vacs
* Diagnostic procedures including thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions and chest tubes.
* Nasogastric Insertion and Maintenance
* Enteral Feeding Tube Insertion and Maintenance
* Patients requiring cardiac monitoring due to chest pain or arrhythmias
* Patients with GI abnormalities
* Trach care, CBI, IV Therapy

Qualifications
- Grad of an Accredited Program
- Specialized field of study should be nursing.
- A current and valid nursing license.
- Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
