The Lead HSE Specialist is equivalent to plant-level EHS professionals and provides immediate, direct support to field service employees who work at customer sites. Their jobs include things like training, inspections, customer interaction around planning, and job execution. They are the first line of contact for the field service engineers as they manage day to day EHS issues in service work. They typically do not have any direct reports.
As a HSE Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Advising on HSE matters and arrangements at Customer Site
Collaborating with Customer's HSE Team to Identify challenges and implement resolution
Validating risk assessments and communicating to the team
Supporting FSEs at Site with HSE Concerns and Resolution
Managing Site Access Through ISTC and Drug Testing (DISA)
Communicating HSE Project related concerns to Site Leaders.
Preparing HSE Project deliverables / KPI's per Contractual Agreement
Ensuring that the HSE plans and arrangements are implemented and aids the project team in complying with the plan.
Overseeing the availability of all HSE documentation, audit trails, organization charts, procedures and work practices related to this project.
Assuring that resources are available for tracking HSE KPIs related to the project
Verifying that all HSE related non-conformances are properly recorded and reported.
Confirming that immediate and appropriate steps are taken to investigate and rectify any risks to health, safety and environment arising from work activity.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED)
Minimum 2 years process safety experience or equivalent education/training
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety preferably in an industrial setting
Minimum of 3 years' experience in services & projects
Plant operations experience is highly preferred
Strong oral & written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
Effective problem identification and solution skills.
Proven analytical and organizational ability.
