The City’s role in this project is the maintenance of the System.
The ITS and CV/AV Lead Technician reports to the ITS and CV/AV Program Transportation Technology Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This is technical work performing installation and maintenance of the ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) and CV/AV (Connected Vehicles/Autonomous Vehicles), which is a joint project between the City, University of Florida, and FDOT. The City’s role in this project is the maintenance of the System.
The ITS and CV/AV Lead Technician reports to the ITS and CV/AV Program Manager. Installs new video detection systems and maintains existing detection systems. Installs video detection for ATSPM (Advance Traffic Signal Performance Measures) operations.
Maintains ITS/CV and AV operations and supports calls.
Performs video detection, traffic signal and controller upgrades and modifications above and beyond Traffic Signal Tech Lead and may have implications to connected vehicle systems.
Performs network setup and modifications.
Attends work continuously and regularly.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School degree or equivalent; and three (3) years of experience with telecommunication and TCP network experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Thorough knowledge of controller programming and database modifications.
Thorough knowledge of video detection – maintenance and setup.

Strong understanding of electrical principles and practices.
Thorough understanding of and ability to apply information regarding the overall purpose of the organization and the role of the division in achieving the goals and objectives of the organization.
Ability to provide leadership and guidance to all levels of employees as well as provide effective training and professional development opportunities to all subordinates.
Ability to troubleshoot various traffic signal and network systems.
Ability to effectively plan and organize work to ensure the highest quality performance of self and others.
Ability to lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the Traffic Operations and CV/AV environment.
