Summary
The Finance Manager oversees staff supporting the CFO organization; providing leadership and direction in Finance operating processes, policies, procedures, process improvements, and employee development to ensure compliant, effective and efficient financial operations
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and oversight in one of the CFO functional area (Examples: Disbursements, General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Financial Planning & Analysis, Compliance).
- Guides and leads the organization with respect to Cost Accounting Standards compliance, Disclosure Statement management, incurred cost submission, A-123 internal control program submission, labor compliance, finance division risk management, coordination of FM&T external audits and other deliverables as they relate to Federal contracting compliance.
- Maintains technical, administrative, and logistical liaison with DOE/NNSA, laboratories, integrated contractors, and other government agencies.
- Represents Finance in meetings or appropriate functions, including direct customer interface on assigned projects.
- Ensures compliance with established GAAP Accounting policies and procedures and DOE/NNSA regulations and helps ensure a sound internal controls environment.
- Solves complex issues related to the interpretation and application of Accounting policies and procedures, and explores alternative solutions to improve company's financial reporting.
- Drives process improvements and integrations within and outside of the Finance division, including benchmarking with other NNSA sites or commercial entities.
- Functions as a strategic business partner across site functions and divisions, and other NNSA sites.
- Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; providing feedback, rewarding; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited university.
- Seven or more years' experience with progressively responsible positions in Finance or Accounting.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- United States Citizenship.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
We Value
Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and/or Professional Certification preferred.
Experience with Peoplesoft and/or SAP S4/HANA ERP systems.
Expert knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and the Department of Energy Financial Management Handbook.
Experiences with Government contracting and in the manufacturing industry.
Advanced level of proficiency applying accounting principles, theories, and concepts.
