POSITION - Union: Field Planner
NUMBER OF OPEN POSITIONS: 1
LOCATION: ME - Farmington - Service Bldg
Responsibilities
Designs construction work orders using the Work Management System (WMS).
Stakes lines, prepares sketches, circuit maps, diagrams, estimates, etc., as required, and assists with or performs such other work as may be necessary for the planning, preparation for, and completion of, construction and maintenance work.
Prepares and obtains private property easements and the necessary information for municipal petitions and permits.
Assists with load checks, investigation of customer complaints and the plans for corrective action when indicated.
Carries on line inspection work and represents the Company on contract work.
Maintains such records as may be necessary.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
Must have at least a two-year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering technology or related field or seven (7) years of line worker experience.
Must be eighteen (18) years of age with a high school education or equivalent.
Must have valid driver’s license, without restrictions, and a safe, responsible driving record.
Must be generally familiar with all kinds of line construction, materials, standards and procedures and have a working knowledge of the circuits, feeds, switches, etc., in the assigned area.
Must have the ability and personality to properly represent the Company in the field.
Must be familiar with the Company’s published instructions and directives pertaining to the work and have the ability to write or print legibly and make accurate estimates, records and reports.
Has a thorough knowledge of the Company's operating standards, policies, and directives pertaining to the assignments and deals courteously with all customers.
Has a thorough knowledge of the safety instructions affecting the work and performs the work accordingly.
Works assigned overtime and responds to emergency assignments.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the classification.
