Position: RF Engineer
Location: Irving, TX
30 Month Contract
Job Title:
RF Engineer II - In-Building
Must Have Skills (Most Important):
- iBwave certification (at least Level 1) and experience applying IBWAVE.
- Knowledge of in-building vendors such as CommScope, Solid, JMA, Corning, and ADRF, and their product offerings and applications.
- Experience with the RF Design tool - Atoll.
- Understanding of the RF Engineering design process as related to in-building networks.
- Experience as an RF Design Engineer for in-building systems, including design, RFDS, and DAS antenna layouts.
- Applied knowledge of FCC rules and regulations and RF EME.
- Very detail-oriented and ability to track and manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Excel skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Fuze, Fuze Planning is a plus.
- Experience with Samsung products and Nokia products.
- Experience with DAS OEM architecture and platforms: CommScope, JMA, SOLiD, Corning & ADRF.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities include:
- Designing 4G and 5G sites in Atoll for in-building systems.
- Designing 4G and 5G sites in IBWAVE for in-building systems.
- Translating the iBwave design and building the RF solution in Atoll per design requirements.
- Creating RFDS, CQ, and supporting documentation for in-building systems.
- Filing 911 and regulatory tasks for all projects assigned to you.
- Updating and maintaining the design tool Atoll.
- Making engineering tradeoffs for RF design.
- Updating and utilizing Atoll for RF EME and E911 issues.
- Assisting real estate and project management teams in preparing the site for construction.
- Interfacing with the construction team as required to resolve real-time build issues.
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
- General understanding and/or working knowledge in one or more of the following telecommunications platforms and technologies: Samsung, Nokia, Ericsson, and LTE and 5G technologies.
- Good understanding of engineering concepts, with an aptitude and desire to learn and advance in a technical field.
- Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- 5 to 7 years of experience.
Logistics:
- 8-5 - Hybrid with two/three days (T/W/Th) in the Irving TX Office is mandatory.
- Must be local at the time of submission
