What You'll Do: Never The Same Day Twice.
TJX's Global Distribution and Fulfillment Networks are offering Industrial Engineering Internships based in our various warehouse locations across the country. For 12 weeks during the summer, you'll become the brains behind a unique off-price business model. As an Industrial Engineering Intern in our network, you will Discover Different from day one-playing an active part in the daily operations of a multi-million-dollar Distribution or Fulfillment Center!
Throughout the summer you'll be exposed to professional development, networking, and volunteer events to provide you with a well-rounded TJX experience. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to work on a process improvement project and give a final presentation to Distribution executive team members upon the completion of your internship.
Through this internship, you'll have the opportunity to:
/ Lead a summer-long process improvement project using the DMAIC process and lean methodologies
/ Conduct frequency studies to develop, update, or validate frequencies within standards
/ Conduct time studies to validate labor standards and aid in cost analysis.
/ Utilize Excel to sort and analyze statistical data from observations and work sampling.
/ Learn about the company and how the business is run by spending time on the operations floor with area
supervisors as well as collaborating with Operations support roles.
/ Learn how to utilize OMS and Reports Manager for pulling performance reports, metrics, and job code
mapping.
Who We Are Looking For: It Just Might Be You.
We are seeking to find strong, curious leaders who never stop looking to grow their engineering and operational talents while identifying process efficiencies within a warehouse environment.
Specifically, we're looking for:
/ Candidates with a genuine interest in a long-term career within our worldwide logistics operation
/ Rising Juniors and Seniors currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program
/ Formal education desired; working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
/ Available for the full duration of the internship program during the summer of 2024
/ Strong analytical thinkers with sophisticated problem-solving skills
/ High aptitude in basic and statistical math as well as good knowledge of Excel
/ Proven leadership experience, team collaboration and strong communication skills
/ Very organized & detail oriented
/ An entrepreneurial drive, strong worth ethic, and business acumen
/ Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule depending on business needs

This position has a starting pay range of $22.50 to $24.50 per hour.
Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
