Summary:
This position is responsible for accepting and processing legal documents involving customer accounts serviced by First Horizon such as garnishments, levies and subpoenas in accordance with relevant legal guidelines. The duties of a Legal Services Processor include placing and removing restraints on customer accounts, remitting and balancing funds due to government agencies, and assembling and verifying subpoenaed documents prior to release in accordance with local, state and federal laws. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients including process servers, government agencies, and First Horizon Bank’s Legal Department, both orally and in writing. This position also requires customer interaction regarding the status customer accounts and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow developed processes and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Process legal documents accurately and in a timely manner with minimal errors.
- Recognize various legal documents in order to determine appropriate established process to follow.
- Prepare written customer notification as required on garnishments, levies, injunctions, bankruptcies, court orders and Child Support Data Match program.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers and business partners.
- Exhibits a high level of attention to detail.
- Meet productivity standards as established by department while providing exemplary customer service.
- Provide excellent customer service and support while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Advanced computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Must have ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes
- High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Studies preferred
- 2-4 years of work experience in legal services preferred
