Job Title: Scrum Master - Program Portfolio Management for Infrastructure Technologies

New York Life is seeking an experienced and skilled Scrum Master that will be a member of the Enterprise Technology Services Team and facilitate multiple cross-functional technology programs. This opportunity provides the right individual with an opportunity to play a critical role in New York Life's Technology Transformation Strategy. The individual will play a crucial role in overseeing Lean Portfolio Management and ensuring that the portfolio's work aligns with its strategic themes and financial goals and those of the broader organization. Experience with modern full stack technology infrastructure patterns is critical. Experience with core infrastructure, cloud, Kubernetes, and microservices platforms is essential. The individual in this role will interface with all areas of the technology organization, sponsor PI Planning to maintain a "six quarter walk" and ensure financial targets are met withing each program. Reporting program status to key stakeholders and senior leadership is a core responsibility of this role.
The individual should be well versed in infrastructure technology with 5+ years of experience with successful large scale program delivery. The individual should expect to operate a work environment where the following activities are common expectations:
- Defining, planning, orchestrating, timely project communications, including periodic status reports
- Ensure clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business value and outcomes
- Direct large scale, complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and matrix partners
- Acquire updated estimates throughout Technology Delivery Life Cycle (TDLC) phases
- Work within IT project management standards and participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost and quality parameters
- Manage project risks and mitigation or contingency plans
- Identify program impediments and address them with appropriate urgency and escalation
- Lead cross-functional meetings and foster teamwork
- Proposes recommendations and process change through defined change management procedures
- Validate financial forecasts and provides ongoing reconciliation of resources and other project expenditures
- Represent project in various project governance and inter department forums
This position can be based in any location within the United States.
Required Skills:
- 5+ yrs minimumIT experience
- Certified Scrum Master
- Developing complex multi-million-dollar business cases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Executive presence with high business & technical acumen
- Strong facilitation skills for large-scale events and workshops
- Solid understanding/experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process
- Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and technical/product teams
- Experience delivering programs in large enterprise environment
Desired Skills:
- AWS Foundational or higher certifications
- Versed in infrastructure as code practices using Terraform
- Public cloud provider experience (AWS certification a plus)
- Practical understanding of infrastructure technologies - compute, network, storage
- Ability to relate to software engineering challenges and practices
- Working knowledge of DevOps and delivery tools (GitHub)
- Ability to be self-directed, a good team player and capacity for effective time management
- Solid background in Cloud Service provider product offerings - AWS, Azure
Education:
- Hashicorp Terraform and AWS certifications a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in related field is a plus, but not required

Pay Transparency
Salary Range:$140,000-$240,000
Overtime eligible:Exempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
