The Associate Director of Luxury Events assists in hiring, training, managing and coaching Event Sales/Planning Managers and Coordinator, and will also stay in tune with day-to-day tasks by servicing group business. This position will be the second in command in the Events department, reporting to the Executive Director of Luxury Sales. This person is assigned specific leadership responsibilities that should include supervisory duties over part of the Event department, leading department meetings and projects, exposure with Ownership meetings and will be fully immersed in responsibilities to prepare for their next position of Director of Events. Responsibilities
- Oversees and assists with all aspects of an event from pre-planning, determining resource needs, pre-event marketing, and on-site coordination, to post event follow up
- Coordinate with vendors, associates and groups to ensure successful events
- Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and transportation
- Develop event concepts and themes to separate us from our competitors.
- Work with the event service and culinary team to ensure brand standards and improvements in the long run
- Ensure compliance with all legal and safety requirements related to events based on government requirements.
- Track and evaluate the success of events and provide recommendations for improvements
- Create detailed P&L sheets for each event (pre and post) to optimize productivity and GOP
- Oversee ordering of supplies needed for events and ensure items arrive in a timely fashion
- Assists in site and vendor selection and negotiating the best possible rates and terms
- Develops effective and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Supervises staff at events, assign duties, and provide general direction
- Conducts post-event data and strategic analysis to inform future events
- Plans and executes pre-event marketing if applicable
- This position will typically be required to carry and achieve a quota and service groups.
- This person works in tandem with Director of Sales and Events to achieve the financial and customer satisfaction goals for the Hotel.
- Administers all relevant paperwork to include: menu development, Event Services (Banquets) event orders, group resumes and forecasting.
- Responsibility in marketing includes: development/ execution of marketing plan, site visits and prospecting efforts.
- Has responsibility for guest satisfaction in all Group Sales Bookings and management of room blocks.
The starting salary for this position is $80,000. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in Hotel Event Sales and/or Event Planning
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and time management skills
- Proven sales experience with the ability to lead, guide and achieve personal revenue goals
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast- paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes and unexpected situations
- Creativity and innovation in developing event concepts and themes
- CMP Certified preferred
